Current Volunteer Opportunities

VOLUNTEER!

Are you a current or retired pilot, teacher, general aviation buff, member of the military or just have time to give?  Look no more!  We need volunteers to assist with Museum operations, aircraft restoration projects as well as educational opportunities in the Aerospace Learning Center (ALC) where children are introduced to aviation and flight through non-motion simulators.

Restoration Opportunities:

Currently there are several restoration projects underway, and several more planned, including an F-100D Super Sabre, A1E Skyraider, C-119G Flying Box Car, EC-121 Constellation, C-53D Skytrooper and a   C-54D Skymaster.  The AMC would love to have volunteers with restoration or direct experience with the above aircraft, but it is not a requirement.  Volunteers must be 18 years old or older and must be physically able to work on the aircraft.  The Museum provides all needed restoration materials.

Educational Opportunities:

Love to read?  The Museum is also looking for vibrant volunteers that can periodically read to groups of children in the Aeroplay Kids’ Zone.

Have you always wanted to be a computer simulator flight instructor?  Now’s your chance! The Aerospace Learning Center needs instructors to teach children how to ‘pilot’ an aircraft using a non-motion simulator.  Opportunities to assist with the Boy Scout merit badge program through the Museum may also be available.

To learn more about volunteer opportunities and be part of the Museum’s team, please contact Linda Bailey at admin@aerospaceca.org or 916-643-3192 for requirements, application information, and questions.
